Mountain Kilimanjaro Bike | 8 – 10 Day’s Kilema Route:
Special Kilimanjaro Route for Mount Bike Climbing. The Kilema Route is a new route introduced recently specifically for biking tours or cycling up Mountain Kilimanjaro.
The national park administration only released the Kilimanjaro for mountain bike rides in the summer of 2016.
The Kilema route has been opened exclusively for Mountain bike rides, and opens up the mountain up to the Horombo huts at 3700m. Good altitude adjustment, very varied landscape and fantastic views towards the summit and Mount Mawenzi. An additional camp in the jungle shortens the stages and increases the chances of a summit.
We open this route for the ambitious amateur and are one of the few agencies worldwide with practical experience with mountain bikes on Kilimanjaro. we have a lot of knowledge in the field of acclimatization 100% summit success confirm this impressively.
The route and the schedule
This tour is offered in 6 days because you can ride a mountain bike in one day. For this trip we use the newly opened Kilema Route in the east of Kilimanjaro. This route runs parallel to the well-known Marangu Route. We stay 2 days at Horombo Hut Camp for active acclimatization and then drive towards Kibo Hut. There are some technically challenging areas in day 3 in this area. Our suggestion tour offered to 7 days for better acclimatization.
The summit at 5895 HM is a very big challenge!
The summit at 5895 HM
The route from Kibo Hut at 4800 HM to Gillman’s Point at 5600 HM is NOT to be driven.
Every biker has the right to carry his bike up himself. To date, only one has made it. There is a porter available for each participant who can take over the bike immediately. In the summit area you can of course drive well. From 5300 HM the altitude is clearly noticeable.
The longest downhill in the world
4000 HM over 35 km
The upper area in the deep Lavesand requires a special driving technique. After that, the terrain flattens out and the fun can begin. This tour is an unforgettable experience for every biker. The next stop is at the hotel bar with a good Kilimanjaro beer.
